Elizabeth Palafox Zaldivar holds a Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin. She is currently a bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Master Social Worker and provides counseling services in the San Antonio community.
She has experience working with multicultural families in transitional housing settings, parent education programs, and intensive case management. In addition, Elizabeth has facilitated maternal mental health support groups for new moms and trauma-informed psychoeducation groups for incarcerated fathers in Travis County.
She is trained in mental health first aid from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, and she can provide crisis intervention services for any individual needing immediate mental health support.
As a first-generation Mexican-American, Elizabeth’s passion is to support individuals and families in the Latinx and immigrant communities using a cultural framework, trauma-informed language, and a strengths-based approach. She seeks to support clients as they discover their identities. Understanding that everyone has a story to share, Elizabeth would like to join clients on their mental health journey to help empower them and provide the tools they need to get where they want to go.
