Adolescent in therapy

Adolescents

The teenage years are often a time that comes with a multitude of challenges. During this time of life, the struggle tends to embed itself in the developmental conflict defined by Erik Erikson, Identity vs. Role Confusion. Adolescents are trying to define who they are at a time when parents are trying to keep them safe. At CHHE, we offer a non-judgmental approach to working with teens and their support system to help with issues related to parent conflict, peer issues, sexual identity, rebellion, school issues and substance use. At first, teens can be resistant to sharing personal information with a “stranger,” however, at CHHE, our staff is trained to create a healthy therapeutic relationship that allows teens to feel safe to open up.
